We are now working with Splitech Internet Solutions to offer
low-cost bandwidth for anyone wanting to stream their audio
feed. Your feed can be from Wisconsin or around the world. Visit Splitech
today for further details.
There are
a few ways to broadcast your feed on the Internet. Butel, the
maker of the wildly popular programming software for programming
the BC780, BC796 and many others just released a excellent new
product call ARC-EazyStream. We have included some info on that
along with the tried and true (and free) method from MKE Scan.
ARC-EaZyStream is a very cost effective and efficient
client/server software solution to stream audio AND scanner text
tags through your local network or the internet.
ARC-EazyStream Server registration is only $49.95, ARC-EazyStream
Client, required to listen to server streams, is free.

MKE Scan's Method:
For the scanner
You will need a audio cable going from scanner ext speaker to
"line in" on back of computer tower, This probably 1/8" phone
plug on each end, and cost only $4 at radio shack.
First we recommend you set up a free Alias IP Address account
so nobody will ever see our real IP address. Plus you can choose
your own url that's real easy to remember.
https://www.dyndns.com/services/dns/dyndns/howto.html
Write down the URL, that will be your feed URL
Now go here to install Windows Media Encoder 9 Series
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/encoder/default.mspx
=
Go to your programs and look for Windows Media and choose
Windows Media Encoder
=
When it opens Choose Broadcast a live event
=
Device options will open, Left click audio if you do not see a
check mark there
=
Click the drop down box and choose audio device, Leave it at
(default audio device) if you are not sure what to choose
=
Click Next
Now you see broadcast Method
Choose Pull from the encoder
Click Next
=
Now you see Broadcast Connection
Choose the port you want to use, if you are not sure just leave
it at 8080
** You must also go to your firewall settings and open this port
or nobody will be able to get on the feed, you can wait until
your done with encoder setup to do this.
Copy down the URL for internet connections
Click Next
=
Now you see Encoding Options
click on Audio drop box and make your choice, if you are not
sure choose Voice quality audio (CBR)
That works good for me.
For Bit Rate choose 19 (that works for me)
you can always play around with the settings later if you are
not happy with how audio sounds
Click next
=
Now you see Archive File
You can save a media file of your feed by checking the box and
naming file
WARNING!! This will be a huge media file because it is not voice
activated and will record until you stop it.
Do not check box unless you want to archive.
Click Next
=
Now you see Display info
You can put whatever you want in the boxes, people on your feed
will see what ever you put in Title & Author box.
Click next
=
Now you see settings review, Click Finish
=
If you see a pop up click ok
=
Now you see just the big encoder box, click start encoding
Click Mixer at the bottom left corner of encoder box, The
default is Microphone, but you want to check "Line In" box
Now raise the volume to about the 3rd line, that works for me
and you can always change it
That's it, you are now broadcasting!
You can click connections to see how many are on your feed
Default only allows 5 people on your feed, you can change that
only by going into your system registry. **This is not
recommended unless you are sure you know what you are doing**
Changing Connections
Click your Start menu
Click Run
type the word regedit in the open box and click ok
Over on the left panel look way to the top you should see one
called HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
click the + and scroll way down Software
Click + by software
Click + by Microsoft
Click + Windows Media Tools
Click + by Encoder
Click MaxClientConnections
you should see Default REG_SZ 5
double-click on Default
and change the value to what you want
Click ok
